Traditional Methods and Laser Hair Removal
by Franchis Adam

Laser hair removal is the latest used technology and method. But since from the past times, women were seeking out some of the perfect ways to remove the hair from their body, and since then there had been a lot of improvement in this area. One of the most beneficial and advanced method is the laser hair removal which is widely accepted and used. Some of the traditional methods which were used earlier were shaving, tweezing, waxing and electrolysis. When these methods are compared to the latest method of laser hair removing, each one is having some of the benefits and disadvantages.

•Shaving: this is the easiest and commonly known method which is used for removing the hair. But when compare with laser hair removal, this method has some downsides. No doubts, razors are the cheapest tools but there are lots of risks involved in using them as there is always a chance of cutting and getting infected. Another point is that the during shaving if hair is sliced off flat, then on their re-growing they can be darker and thicker which can results into the opposite effects. There are many areas of the body which are very much sensitive to the shaving like bikini area and the face. So if a person goes for laser hair removal treatment, it can be more safe and attractive.

•Waxing: this is the effective method but this method can be very much painful as it yanks hair out by the roots. But, the effect of this method lasts for a longer time than shaving and there are not many risks involved in it and can be easily done at home. The only thing which is to be considered is that one has to allow the hair to grow quite before the effect of waxing can be seen.

•Sugaring: instead of using wax, one can also go for the use of wax. This is considered to be more natural method of removing the hair, but still there are some of the disadvantages which add some kind of stickiness to the body. Moreover, some of the people believe that this method is not much effective like the laser hair removal.

So it is clear that there are many methods for hair removing, but one has to move with the latest technology. Laser hair removal is a starring method in this field and is the safest and effective.

What to Expect from Laser Hair Removal Treatment
by Justin DiMateo

Once the decision has been made to go forward with a cosmetic treatment, there can be some anxiety as the appointment draws near. To help alleviate those fears, it is a good idea to learn what happens during the treatment. In many cases, a simple knowledge of what is to come will relieve anxiety so the treatment session is as pleasant and painless as possible.

Laser hair removal is usually done in a series of sessions that take place in four to eight week intervals. There may be three to five appointments scheduled, depending on the area that will be treated and how effective the treatments are. The first appointment consists of a consultation with the doctor who will be performing the procedure. At this meeting, the patient will learn exactly what to expect from the treatment and have the opportunity to ask questions about the laser hair removal process.

At the next appointment, the area that will be treated may be shaved and an anesthetic cream is applied to alleviate any possible discomfort. In many cases, a cooling device is attached to the laser to increase comfort level for the patient. After the procedure, the treated area may be slightly red and swollen. This will go away fairly quickly with gentle cleansing, but a topical ointment can also be provided to ease the discomfort.

Laser hair removal can successfully remove unwanted hair on a semi-permanent basis. By knowing what to expect from the procedure, a patient can face the treatment sessions without anxiety or fear.

Laser Hair Removal Risks - What Are They and Should You Be Concerned?
by Bill Gatton

Probably the most-common deterrent to laser hair removal is cost. The next biggest concern, however, is the question of whether there are any laser hair removal risks.
Of course, there is risk involved in any procedure where a laser is used, as a laser is a very powerful object. However, the risks involved in laser hair removal procedures are minimal, and the benefits of treatment far outweigh them.

Especially since laser hair removal has been an FDA-approved treatment for the permanent removal of unwanted facial and body hair since 1997, the decades during which it has existed have brought about many technological and procedural advances. It should also be noted that individuals performing laser hair removal treatments must be accredited, and there are a number of institutions throughout the country where aestheticians train to be able to perform this procedure.

The most-commonly feared risk which might deter individuals from seeking the treatment is the possibility of receiving burns to the skin. Another possible risk would be the chance that dark skin could be discolored by the technology of the laser beam. An additional risk is that one could end up with white spots where the laser has caused the pigment of the skin to disappear along with the dark material that is targeted by the laser beam. One less serious potential complication is the risk of a flare of acne. This is a highly temporary potential risk and can be easily reversed with treatment.

If you are going to a salon, a laser hair removal clinic or a doctor's office which you know and trust, whether by having gone there for other treatments in the past or from a friend's recommendation, it is highly unlikely that any permanent damage to your skin will take place. In addition, it should be noted that many practitioners carry insurance, should any unexpected accidents occur.

Now that the potential and highly-unlikely risks have been identified, it is necessary to highlight the benefits of laser hair removal, so that one can make an informed decision regarding whether or not to undergo the procedure.

Because laser hair removal is permanent, you will never again have to worry about scheduling appointments at the salon for upper lip, bikini area, and eyebrow waxes, whether far in advance or at the last minute. In addition, you will no longer have to be bothered by messy, problematic, and often ineffectual over the counter drugstore remedies.

So with what you know now about this risk of this procedure, you can now have no worry. Remember, the sooner you start, the sooner you'll be able to enjoy having soft, smooth skin for the rest of your life!
