Hair Loss Restoration Methods
by Hair Transplant Expert

Hair loss can be a large episode in a person's life -- it can influence a person's perspective on how people see him/her. Other men may come to think that hair loss overshadows their personality and could affect their self-confidence and how they mingle with other people.

If you feel that your social life is affected because you're "balding," then maybe it's time to consider hair restoration. Many methods are available, both medical and surgical methods. Hair restoration costs vary depending on the method you will use.

One treatment is Finasteride. This medicine can stop and even reverse balding in most people. Finasteride inhibits the formation of DHT a hormone that causes male patterned baldness. One downside is you will need to continue using it your whole life if you do not want to be bald. There's also some side effects like birth defects so it is not to be used by women and children; other side effects are problems with ejaculation, loss of sexual drive, and some allergic reactions. These side effects are rare and you must consult your doctor if they occur. One popular brand of Finasteride is Propecia; this costs around 2 to 3 dollars per pill.

Another treatment is the use of Minoxidil, a hair regrowth medication. This works for younger men, normally 18-41 years old, and is mainly used on the vertex. Common side effects of Minoxidil include irritation or a burning sensation in the eye; redness or irritation at the area treated; itching; and unwanted hair growth elsewhere in the body. One popular brand of Minoxidil is Rogaine, which costs usually around 30 dollars for 1 month of use.

Still the most expensive would be hair surgery, specifically Follicular Unit transplant, which usually costs around 5 to 6 dollars per graft. Average number of grafts needed per surgery is more than 500, not to mention doctor's fee and the anesthesia. Price ranges from 4,000 up to 20,000 dollars. Of course, this is a more permanent solution compared to the other two methods.

You could do more research and consult a doctor for diagnosis to know which method will best apply to your condition.
