5 Side Effects of Laser Hair Removal
by Rachieko

Our bodies are covered with hair, mostly vellus hair which is the fine, non-pigmented hair that covers the body of children and adults. Women generally have less visible body and facial hair.

Women don't want facial hair (except for the eyebrows) but many of them do have stray hairs on their chins. That's why they really have concern about removing their excessive hair with any way. One of the popular methods to remove facial hair is laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal is a method of removing unwanted body hair through the use of laser technology. A high intensity beam of light which gives off a lot of heat energy is directed at hair follicles to damage and stunt re-growth of the hair. It is a fairly painless process and a huge improvement in near-permanent hair removal methodology compared to painful electrolysis.

Laser hair removal is just like other medical treatments, it carries the risk of possible side effects. There are some side effects of laser hair removal that can be temporary or permanent.

Bruising. It is generally not very severe and most people will not even feel that their skin is bruised. Bruising occurs if you have tanned areas in the body.
Redness. The skin which has been exposed to the laser beams would experience redness or get burnt especially for those who have sensitive skin.

Skin discoloration. It is generally a permanent lightning of the skin in the area that was treated. The wavelengths of the laser beam are made to attack the dark pigmentation in the hair follicle. This side effect can be emotionally damaging, although it is not painful.

Unpleasant Look. Others have noted that patterns of hair re-growth are patchy and unpleasant to look at.

Blind. If the laser beams were to come close to your eye, there is a possibility that you could lose your sight because these beams are dangerous.
