Waxing...or Laser Hair Removal?
by Ricardo d Argence

There are so many beauty regimens available on the market for women today that sometimes, instead of a simple choice or decision, it has become which treatment would suit you best. Whether to have legs waxed or use laser treatment is one such scenario. These two methods are preferred by women instead of the old method of having to shave their legs every other day.

Waxing can sometimes frighten people if they have never had it done before, especially if they have watched a film or program where this treatment has been used and heard all the noises. In actual fact, it may not hurt as much as people think. It is a procedure used by many women to remove unwanted hair by the root.

If you choose to have the cold waxing technique, this is a quick and simple procedure. The wax is smoothed across all the unwanted hair, and then a paper strip is pressed down along the waxed area. The paper will then be ripped off quickly in the opposite direction the hair grows.

Those women who have sensitive skin can still have a wax removal but a different procedure is on offer. This procedure will consist of having hot wax applied to the area and allowed to cool off at which point the unwanted hair is removed with a clean dry cloth. Both of these waxing procedures have been used many times, creating a smooth skin that can last up to as long as two months before going through the process again.

Those women who prefer an alternative hair removal technique can try using laser treatment. Again, a simple easy routine is used to perform unwanted hair removal. The heat from the laser is aimed at the hair follicles and causes inflammation, causing the unwanted hair to go into hibernation. This method can take three to five treatments and then a yearly routine for maintenance.

The laser method treatment is performed by a highly skilled professional; the laser is placed long enough to heat the follicles but not long enough to cause damage to the outer skin. This treatment may take longer to get results, though. Many women favor this method because of the lasting effects, only having to return after all the treatments on a yearly visit.

These different methods of removing unwanted hair both have their advantages and disadvantages. Both methods are good but it is personal choice, time and money are all things to consider. Some parlors may be more expensive than others using either treatment.

Those who want to choose wax hair removal may prefer this method and treat this as a social outing just the same as having their hair or nails done. They may not even be bothered about the cost or the fact they have to go every two months and are happy to do so.

Laser hair removal, for the majority of those women with busy working schedules, may be the preferred treatment. In the beginning, it may mean more trips to the parlor but after the initial first treatment followed by the remaining three to five treatments, they will benefit after this with the next treatment being a yearly maintenance. Laser hair removal for the long term advantages will no doubt become a favorite treatment of many women.
